Arts and CraftsTables and Fern Stands

I specialize in modern interpretations of the Arts and Crafts furniture built 100 years ago. Elements such as vertical lines, square motifs, corbels and broad, over-hanging tops are evident in the examples shown here.

Detail of Bubinga and Maple table

Cherry and Maple table

Arts and Crafts Combination Wood Tables
Using the unique textures of wood to create visual interest, I took a traditional design and gave it a more modern edge. The table at left features a top of curly Cherry; the base is Maple with a curly Maple drawer front; bird's eye Maple was used for the slats. The front apron features a Cherry stripe that also forms the bottom of the drawer front. This same design is shown in Bubinga (an African wood) and figured Maple in the detail shot, above.

Arts and Crafts Fern Stands
These practical stands take up a little over a foot of floor space and make nice vertical accents. Traditionally used for plants, they also display books or pottery. The shorter one on the right was commissioned as a nightstand.
